July 13th, 2017 was the day I feel in love with Yoga. I was riding on the Metro North from White Plains, NY to Fordham Road in the Bronx. Full of excitement, I said to myself "This is first yoga class and its at Pelham Bay Park :)". I had already been on a spiritual path due to the fact that I am a master number 11. I encourage anyone reading this to find out what the life path number is. Numbers carry very high frequencies and knowing this information can help you through this life journey. Understand this we were not born to just work, pay bills to retire and die. We all have a special mission in this life time and we will never find happiness until we fill what's truly in our hearts ( your heart's desire). Only you know what your hearts desire truly is, it that "hobby" that you LOVE to do but since you have to be an adult and pay bills you can't put your energy in this "hobby". Little did you know that little hobby that you LOVE to do so much as well seeing yourself doing this morning, noon and night might just be your true purpose. Anyway, back to the story, so here I am riding to meet my old high school to do yoga for the first time. I had been interested in taking a class for years but always made excuses as to why I "could not" go. However, I had just gotten back into the gym, I had become vegan and this just seemed like the way to go. I hopped in my friend's car and we drove off. She turned on Jay-Z new 4:44 album and we were ready to become yogis. We arrived and honestly, I was a bit jittery because I did not know what to expect. Well needless to say my friend give a killer class and I was hooked( I will have her IG information below check her out). After class, I felt such a wave of emotions from feeling grounded and centered, too energized and ready to take on the world. I did not know that a so called "workout' could have such a spiritual effect on me and yet it did. Soon after I took on a 30-day yoga challenge and I have one more week to go. In the midst of all of this, I came across Kemetic yoga. Kemetic yoga originated in Egypt and was brought to India by the ancient Dravidians. These indigenous people spread the practice through out India. I was immediately drawn to it mostly like because of my ancestral connection. My journey with yoga is in it's infancy stages and this is a life long practice of patience, resilience, clarity, inner peace amongst other powerful lessons that can be learned. Yoga is a lifestyle and for me, this lifestyle has just begun. Namaste!
